Releasing onto Google Play

Hi everyone

so I have persevered through texture issues, compression types and NPO2s.

I have my thing working on an S2 and Nexus 7(2013). I know it won't work on the Nexus 7 - black textures.

So questions.

Is the fact that the Nexus 7 shows black textures an issue for other devices? The unity build is set for ECT1.

I have a google play account but have not pushed anything out before, this will be a freebie is there a guide as to how to do this?

Stefan, what would you like me to say about the Dive?

Perhaps this should be gathered on one thread to help others?

Ok guys. A couple of tips.

If your app is greater than 50meg in Unity, then simply click on the Split Application Binary. This will create two files a small APK and a large OBB file. Take NO notice of anything that is posted on line about getting this to work, using plugins and the rest, most of it is wrong.

Simply rename the OBB file to:

main.[[color=#0000BF:2zxqplne]Your Bundle Version Code[/color:2zxqplne]].[[color=#00BF00:2zxqplne]Bundle Identifier[/color:2zxqplne]].obb

Where "Bundle Version Code" and "Bundle Identifier" are the settings in Unity==>Player Settings==>Identification

For Orbulus that was:

main.[color=#0000BF:2zxqplne]5[/color:2zxqplne].[color=#00BF00:2zxqplne]com.VRCraftworks.Orbulus[/color:2zxqplne]

Where the 5 signified what build number the Beta was in.

Set the Development console to ADVANCED mode.
Then upload the small apk to Alpha you will be asked to specify the expansion file. Select the renamed OBB file.
Give the Google Elves sometime to run and turn their wheels.

If you want to test, side load the small APK and run from your device. It should simply call down the expansion file and then run.

Hope this helps someone, its a nightmare otherwise.
