I have a "quick and dirty" solution for the "enter" key problem with various gamepads.

1. you need "root" access on your phone
2. install the apk from https://github.com/downloads/chrisboyle ... eyTest.apk
3. start it and press your gamepad's buttons
4. write down the "scancode" number for each button
5. open "/system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl" on your phone and modify the corresponding lines

Example: button 1 of my gamepad is scancode 288,
so I modify the line "key 288 BUTTON_1" and change it to "key 288 A"

6. save the file and reconnect your gamepad
7. start q2 and change the key mappings, pressing button 1 should now act like pressing "a" on a keyboard

Suggestion: modify 3 of your gamepad buttons to "ESCAPE", "ENTER", and "Y", so you can navigate in the game menu and quit the game easily

Again: this solution is "quick and dirty". the correct way would be the creation of a new *.kl file matching usb vendor, product, and version id of your gamepad.
simply google for "android keylayout file".

Hi Stefan when you can create patches to do to become a game in any side-by-side? this is what people search! not create games, but the drivers that converts waste time in any game side by side what she creates games are small questions if you check his forum and on quake

are games, as a little child if she makes a covertitore apk lg 3d smartphone as did remember?
if she makes a converter apk its potential sales will triple
she invented the project and its a beautiful thing, but staying behind the times but do not create games convert sbs 3d every game this people, are waiting

Despite the fact that nobody understands what you are trying to tell us, please do not write the same nonsense in multiple threads.

I'm not managing to get quake2 sbs to run on my Nexus4.

( the regular quake2 does run fine)

it gives the following logcat info immediately after starting:

anyone any ideas?

Another question, just asking:

Are there any tweaks or solutions for the problem with lags as soon as a weapon is fired? I fear the light effects are too heavy for my phone, although everything else runs really smooth. I tried to lower the resolution, but either it does not really work, or it has no effects. Not sure.

hello all,

I am trying to play q2 on my htc one with a wired xbox 360 controller, however there are a few issues:

1. im having trouble assigning controls, they are all picked up as enter

2. on the very right hand side of the screen, it shows a small part of another screen ( the double view does not fill the whole screen horizontally) i have tried to change the resolution, however i get an error. i even tried modding the config files but these have no effect.

Thanks in advance for any help. getting a game like q2 to work perfectly is worth the price alone!!

Tried it with idroid but never managed to make it work. Tried it with a wireless keyboard/mouse(not bluetooth). Customizing the controls never worked although Q2 was keeping the changes. Using the prearranged controls worked. Arrow keys for moving, enter for jumping and p for shooting. But the mouse wasn't turning the whole image like it happens on the Rift. Only way would be to be standing, not an option. Also it didn't matter if i was using stefan's cfg or not. I think there's a big problem with Q2 itself with the whole controls section and that's what has to be fixed.

Okay let me summarize so far:

Android 4.4.2 (maybe also CM11 mod): just copy the config from stefan into baseq folder, connect your idroid:con via keyborad only (hold button "A", then "start";), start both native sensor and then quake2 and all buttons work

if this not work, go get another smartphone, connect your idroid:con to it, then reconnect with your phone, it works

Android 4.2.2 (standard on galaxy s4 active for example): same procedure like in 4.4.2, but: in-game you have the issue, that fire for example works at R1; if you're moving AND strafing AND fire the same time, the fire "lags" a bit, jump is on button Y or L1 and works just sporadically, DUCK is not working at all; but: you can access all buttons in the menu and reassign them, but this has NO impact to the game, nothing of the reassigned buttons works at S4 android 4.2.2

So the reason must be the known bluetooth issue with android 4.2.2 and the idroid:con controller has lags then. At least for the galaxy S4.

Solution could be: a better bluetooth app (wanna try a search), update to android 4.4.2 or CM11. Or just to ROOT your device without any further change. I will try this and tell u what worked.
