Here's a video I think you will like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p4tpAlZiVs

Software used:
· Kainy for streaming (set to nearly max quality).
· Tridef 3D for SBS.
· FreePIE for view control.
· Borderlands 2 (game).

Immersion was good, aiming a bit more difficult than usual (no freeview in Borderlands 2 so all my head movements translated into mouse movements) and you miss the HUD in the corners. I'll try with other drivers like VireIO and tell you about it.

I'm pleased to see that a lot of people are begining to explore this idea. I have finished making a looong tutorial about how to set up the system. Basically, it uses the same method that is described here, but very very detailled, with a lot of troubleshoting, and solution to problems I encountered while testing it on different computers. It is meant to get better as we find solutions to resolve our different issues.

I will release it in French and English during the week end, and I'll continue to improve it, and to work on our cheap Oculus Rift!

hi all, I want to thank this tutorial because it worked perfectly, but I wanted to ask your help to improve immersion and gameplay experience.

I've noticed that playing PC games in 3D SBS NOT produce the same experience that RV games and demos for Android such as Tuscany dive. RV games for Android produce a sense of immersion, whereas PC games feel as if you were watching a great image floating before your eyes, but do not feel like RV. I know this is because both Oculus apps like Android apps, distort the image to the lens, and I think Oculus apps and Android have properly adjusted the FOV for displays.

I would like to help me improve the immersion of PC gaming in 3D SBS to make it as close as possible to the Oculus and android apps. I hope you understand what I mean and I apologize for my bad English.

Greetings

I had to give this a try as soon as I saw your video with Half-Life 2, and it worked admirably, better than I expected. Not close to actually being playable for me, but it's an awesome preview of things to come. Actually being able to walk around Kleiner's lab during the "Red Letter Day" chapter was an awesome experience.

Edit: Just played a bit without head-tracking. Have to admit that it's still a fun experience this way.
Biggest hurdle for me was the head movement. I used Kainy for view control, and had to play around with the mouse sensitivity until I got it somewhat working, but far from perfect. I found myself often looking down in real-life while looking ahead in the game. How did you use FreePIE to control the view?

So what is your exact question? Or was that a statement? (Maybe consider writing in your native language and in English, so someone could translate.)

If this was a question, you could also try this:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=2506438

UPDATE 2014 NOW YOU DONT NEED ANY OF THESE STEPS Just install latest splashtop on your pc, enable the gamepad driver. DONE!! Play or hook up any controller
Enable driver link

Otherwise I would need more information to try to help you.

Oh wow, is my English that bad?

The "statement" was: I've made limelight work with steam which means i can stream and play the games that i have on my pc on my galaxy s4.
The questions are:
- How do i get these games to display in 3d? (tridef maybe?)
- What is the current best way to get head-tracking to work for the configuration i have?

any clue on how to get this to work on a mac? I can't get tridef.... anyone know of any other options that are mac compatible?

also, is there anyway to do this with oculus rift games? I was streaming an oculus game to my phone, but I had no way to look around the scene

@keysersozeh:
well not really, I just wanted to make everythin clear. When I re-read it now it makes sense to me ^^ .

run 3D games:
I personally think you should go with TriDef (it will enable side-by-side mode) and games in windowed mode to size the window according to the correct aspect ratio. I did not get around to try VorpX or Vireio though.
you could use e.g. this tool for the window sizing: http://www.winsplit-revolution.com/

get head-tracking:
use Freepie, it's a great tool. For instructions look at the OP and at my post here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2618&start=10#p3260

@bbennnett22
Rift movement cloning:
according to the developer of Freepie at the MTBS3D forum there is currently no way to get to the driver core of the Rift. Sadly it is very closed source at the moment. Maybe in the future that will be possible. I am very interested in this as well.

3d with Mac:
I have no idea about Mac. Dual boot probably is the way to go at the moment if neither VorpX, Vireio nor TriDef work.
some games do have a native 3d mode though which could maybe be used. but I do not know how to enable or use that
