PC Game development, running on phone

Hi!

I just posted about this here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2977
I wanted to let all game devs out there know that if you are creating PC VR games, you can now make them compatible to work with the Durovis Dive (or other headsets), avoiding the limitations of Android hardware (as the software is running on the PC), by using the Trinus Gyre Server library (http://oddsheepgames.com/trinus/?devlib#). This can be added to your PC game (there's a Unity example in that link), to stream video content to phone and get headtracking data back.

Happy new year!

I have tried Trinus Gyre and it is OK for what it is, the main issue is the latency of your wifi connection and your own sensitivity to that latency. I had even setup a MIMO wireless adapter and a dual antenna android device and still the latency was too much for me. Nothing wrong with the software, the wireless transmission hardware has to simply catch up.

USB provides the best speed atm, Wifi AC can deliver good results too but otherwise you need to lower the resolution.
That said, there are planned updates to further improve the software and minimise latency so stay tuned! :)
