Non emergency medical transportation

Non emergency medical transportation

Not every medical situation is an emergency, but that doesn’t mean getting to the appointment is easy. I’ve seen people miss follow-ups or treatments just because they had no reliable ride. It's easy to take transportation for granted until you're recovering from surgery, have mobility issues, or simply can't drive. That’s where something like NEMT comes in, it bridges the gap for those who fall through the cracks of regular systems. It’s not just about a ride, it's about preserving dignity and continuity of care. The problem is, a lot of folks don’t even know it exists. I didn’t either until a close friend needed weekly treatment and had no options. This isn’t some fancy service, it’s essential. If we care about making healthcare truly accessible, then we need to talk more about the role NEMT plays in everyday health journeys. It’s not flashy, but it matters more than we think.
