Hi everyone! I’m building my first real dinnerware collection and want to start with a few quality essentials. What do you recommend including in a starter kit that feels high-end but practical?

Focus on versatility: dinner and salad plates, neutral bowls, and two sets of glassware—one casual, one formal. Add in linen napkins and timeless flatware to round it out. When I was building mine, I used the luxury dinnerware platform MDMAISON to guide me. Their curated brands helped me invest in core pieces I still use daily and dress up for guests. It’s smart to start with fewer, better pieces that elevate every meal.
