Advantages of Invisalign removable denta braces

Crooked teeth or dental misalignment is a problem that usually manifests itself during the first years of life. This happens due to aggressions in the tissues that support the dental arch, which, over time, causes changes in the position of the teeth.

According to the orthodontist Dr. Maria, some childhood habits cause people to have crooked teeth.

"Habits such as using a pacifier, bottle or sucking a finger, are factors that contribute to the patient's condition in this type of case, which can also occur due to genetic factors," she said.

According to the orthodontist, the problem of dental changes is not only related to crooked teeth. “There are patients who have the problem of misalignment, but that is not visible, that is, sometimes the teeth are apparently not crooked but they may be damaging the bite. So, it is important for people to go to the dentist regularly,” explains Maria.
He also says that it is important to keep in mind that countless disorders can arise when we do not treat teeth that are misaligned. "This can lead to stomach problems, such as heartburn and gastritis, because crooked teeth compromise the chewing of food during meals, precisely because there is no correct chewing," she said.

TREATMENT - The treatment to straighten the teeth is usually done by placing an orthodontic appliance that is used to correct or align the position of the teeth.

“The forces that are exerted by the device allow the teeth to move to their correct position. In other words, this movement solves the problem of misalignment, as long as the diagnosis is made correctly and the treatment instituted with the appropriate technique, otherwise, the teeth remain crooked even after using the aligners”, explains Dr. Maria.

1. Fixed dental braces: Generally, they are only considered for correction in adolescents and adults.
2. Removable dental braces: Generally, they are recommended only to children.
