Hey, there's already a movie player for the dive just search for opendive on the playstore. Unfortunately it's not free.
there's also a team working on a rom to do what you're suggesting, they were called AetherAr and now are SecondSight (secondsight.io) I can't find any sort of updates from them for a while but they show videos of the rom working on a GS4.

There is the GoShow app available (at the Playstore) for watching movies. They are working to adapt it for iOS.
